Are you an experienced logistics leader with a passion for building strong customer relationships and delivering operational excellence?

We're looking for an Account Director to take ownership of a portfolio of strategic transport-focused customer accounts. You'll provide leadership across multiple contracts, acting as the senior point of contact for both our customers and operational teams.

This role is about far more than day-to-day operations. You'll be responsible for developing long-term customer partnerships, ensuring commercial performance, driving continuous improvement and leading teams to deliver exceptional service across your account portfolio.

We're looking to offer a competitive salary and benefits package for this role, including company car or car allowance and discretionary bonus. In addition, we offer 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days. What You'll Do On a Typical Day

  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key customer stakeholders, acting as the senior point of contact across your account portfolio
  • Lead the strategic account management agenda, ensuring customer satisfaction, retention and growth opportunities are maximised
  • Provide leadership and oversight across multiple transport operations, ensuring service, safety and compliance standards are consistently achieved
  • Work closely with operational teams to drive performance, continuous improvement and operational excellence
  • Lead regular customer reviews, providing insight, performance updates and strategic recommendations
  • Ensure contract KPIs, service commitments and financial targets are achieved or exceeded
  • Identify opportunities to enhance customer value through innovation, efficiency improvements and wider XPO solutions
  • Take ownership of contract profitability, budgets and overall commercial performance
  • Support and develop operational leadership teams, building capability and driving engagement across the accounts

What You Need To Succeed At XPO

  • Proven experience managing large, complex logistics or transport contracts at a senior management level
  • Strong background in strategic account management and customer relationship leadership
  • Experience overseeing multi-site or multi-contract transport operations
  • Strong commercial understanding with responsibility for budgets, profitability and contractual performance
  • Excellent operational knowledge of transport management, fleet operations and service delivery
  • A track record of building trusted relationships with customers at senior stakeholder level
  • Experience leading high-performing operational teams through influence and collaboration
  • Strong communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills
