YOUR ROLE

We are seeking an exceptional Senior General Manager to lead a large-scale, customer-focused contract logistics operation within a fast-paced and part-automated environment. This is a pivotal leadership role, accountable for driving operational excellence, financial performance, and long-term client partnerships across a complex, multi-site operation based in Daventry.

As the Senior General Manager, you will play a critical role in shaping strategy, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring the operation remains efficient, innovative, and commercially competitive.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

Reporting to the Business Unit Director, you will be the onsite senior leader with full responsibility for delivering operational performance, budget targets, and service excellence. You will work in close partnership with clients, ensuring a collaborative and proactive approach to service delivery, while identifying opportunities to enhance operational performance and support contract growth.   • Providing strategic leadership across contract logistics operations, ensuring delivery against all financial, operational, and service KPIs.
  • Develop and execute annual business plans, with ownership for budget management and cost controls.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement, identifying and implementing initiatives that enhance efficiency and customer value.
  • Create senior-level client relationships, ensuring high levels of engagement, satisfaction, and contract retention.
  • Lead, coach, and develop high-performing management structures, fostering a culture of accountability and engagement.
  • Ensure full compliance with HSE and regulatory requirements, embedding best practices.
  • Leverage emerging technologies and operational innovation to optimise warehouse design and performance.
  • Standardise performance frameworks driving consistency in reporting, productivity, and service delivery.

This is an opportunity to take on a highly visible leadership position within a leading logistics organisation, where you will have the autonomy to shape strategy, influence commercial outcomes, and drive meaningful, long-term impact for both the business and our client.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Our ideal candidate will have significant operational leadership experience ideally within a large-scale logistics, warehousing, or eCommerce environment, experienced in leading multi-user or complex operations.

You will be an analytical, decisive, and commercially astute individual with a proven track record of P&L management and delivering against budgetary targets, skilled in building and developing strategic client relationships, and demonstrable success in delivering operational transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.
