The Opportunity
Do you possess a minimum of 5 years’ logistics procurement experience in at least two senior procurement/commercial roles? Have you got demonstrable experience of succeeding in an autonomous, self-sufficient role in which you were personally accountable for delivering targets? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you.
The successful candidate will be tasked with maximizing return for EBIT and its client(s) by creating, owning, managing and delivering logistics end-to-end procurement activity identified through a project pipeline, working to a high standard, delivering client satisfaction, commercial benefit and business improvement.
As a Procurement Delivery Partner, you will work directly with EBIT clients to optimise logistics spend and deliver sustainable commercial value across a broad range of logistics and supply chain categories.
You'll act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, helping shape sourcing strategies across a broad range of logistics and supply chain categories, including but not limited to:
- Transportation & Freight
- Warehousing & Distribution
- Contract Logistics
- Supply Chain Services
- Logistics Technology
- Fleet Operations
- Customs & Trade Services
You will combine deep logistics market knowledge, procurement expertise, commercial acumen and stakeholder influence to deliver measurable savings, risk reduction, operational improvements and innovation.
This role offers the opportunity to work across multiple clients and industries and requires a proactive, self-driven approach to leading strategic procurement activity, from opportunity identification through to implementation and supplier management.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Procurement Leadership
- Clear understanding of client and EBIT objectives for the logistics procurement project(s) and service levels and ensure this translates into tasks, appropriate focus, prioritisation, action plans and output.
- Develop an understanding of client and EBIT business, strategy, forward focus and ways of working through background research, information gathering, questioning and meetings with appropriate stakeholders.
- Meet key business stakeholders, conduct research, ask relevant questions, gather information to gain an appropriate understanding of logistics business/spend categories and the supply base.
- Lead, manage and run logistics procurement activity end-to-end on behalf of EBIT and the client to a high standard ensuring collaboration with appropriate internal stakeholders. This will include but not limited to preparing activity, conducting research and analysis, defining approach, facilitating the development of logistics specifications, preparing tender documentation, running tender process, evaluating responses, negotiating, drafting and reviewing contract documents and service levels, supporting implementation, conducting reviews and managing suppliers.
- Evaluate and monitor supply chain operations of our clients.
- Aid communication between suppliers and clients to achieve mutual satisfaction.

Supplier Management & Commercial Delivery
- Maximise savings/benefits delivered for the client and therefore maximise sales for EBIT, working at appropriate pace whilst ensuring quality solutions that drive business improvement, ensuring client satisfaction is maintained to a high standard.
- Deliver acceptable return on investment for clients, achieving this as quickly as possible. Nurture client relationship, working to maximise the length of relationship EBIT has with each client.
- Ensure that the client meets its cost, productivity, accuracy, and timeliness targets.
- Promote the benefits of EBIT to the client. Ensure protection of EBIT’s market intelligence. Upsell other services where appropriate.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Manage and maintain stakeholder relationships to ensure client satisfaction including arranging meetings, updates, presentations, reporting (including regular factful completion of EBIT’s Project Tracker) and communicating progress as appropriate.
- Proactively update and communicate logistics activity progress including completion of EBIT/client project trackers and savings reports, relevant presentations and provide information as required to line management.
- Build trusted relationships with client stakeholders and suppliers, influencing decision-making through logistics expertise, commercial insight and procurement best practice
Project & Pipeline Management
- Development and ongoing management of a pipeline of logistics procurement projects that reflects the client and EBIT objectives and particularly ensures as much opportunity is identified and driven as possible, ensuring no ‘in scope’ category is missed. Ensure appropriate prioritisation and focus is given to the projects, reviewing constantly.
- Forward vision to anticipate and manage appropriately any logistics opportunities, risks and challenges; developing and implementing action plans where required to ensure objectives are met.
- Be willing to lean in and support on other categories from time to time.
Governance & Continuous Improvement
- Always working and ensuring work is carried out in EBIT’s and the clients’ best interests and ensure a high and consistent quality of output.
- Follow due process and governance from both EBIT and the client, minimising any risks associated with running activity and delivery.
- Ensure appropriate authority is gained to progress and sign off projects and savings through the relevant stages.
- Drive business improvement through high quality procurement solutions and delivery.

In this role, you will:

- Be recognised by clients as a trusted logistics procurement advisor and subject matter expert
Skills & Experience
Essential
- A minimum of 5 years’ logistics experience in at least two senior procurement/commercial roles.
- Degree and/or MCIPS qualification.
- Strong relationship management, confident and credible at C-Level/board level and with senior stakeholders.
- Highly organised and focused individual capable of prioritising and re-prioritising constantly.
- Demonstrable experience of succeeding in an autonomous, self-sufficient role in which you were personally accountable for delivering targets, business improvement and managing stakeholder relationships.
- Commercially astute with a drive for delivery and achieving commercial results.
- Demonstrable experience and knowledge of logistics best practice and the procurement process.
- Full UK driving licence.
Highly Desirable
- Procurement experience within Retail and/or Manufacturing environments.
- Experience across additional indirect procurement categories such as Marketing, Facilities Management, or IT.
- Previous consultancy, interim, or client-facing procurement experience.
- MCIPS qualification.
