The Logistics Specialist will be responsible for reviewing, evaluating and optimising the organisation's global logistics and freight operations. The role will lead a comprehensive assessment of current logistics providers, commercial arrangements and service performance, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs and strengthen supply chain resilience.

Working closely with internal stakeholders and external logistics partners, the Logistics Specialist will develop and manage a competitive tender process, evaluate alternative providers, and make recommendations that support the business's current and future operational requirements.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Conduct a comprehensive review of existing logistics and freight arrangements across all operating regions.
  • Assess the performance of current logistics providers against agreed service levels, cost, quality, responsiveness and geographic coverage.
  • Analyse freight spend and logistics costs to identify savings opportunities and operational efficiencies.
  • Benchmark existing contracts, pricing structures and commercial terms against current market standards and best practice.
  • Develop and manage a formal Request for Quotation (RFQ) and/or Request for Proposal (RFP) process for logistics services.
  • Identify, evaluate and recommend global logistics providers capable of supporting both current operations and future business growth.
  • Perform detailed commercial, operational and risk assessments of potential logistics partners.
  • Prepare business cases and recommendations outlining cost-saving opportunities, service improvements, risk mitigation strategies and network optimisation initiatives.
  • Support supplier selection, contract negotiations and implementation planning to ensure a smooth transition where new providers are appointed.
  • Collaborate with Procurement, Operations, Finance, Sales and regional teams to ensure logistics solutions align with business objectives.
  • Monitor market trends, freight rates and emerging logistics technologies to ensure the organisation remains competitive.
  • Develop reporting and performance metrics to measure supplier effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
