🚨 We're Hiring: Logistics Specialist | Permanent Opportunity
📍 Location: Aberdeen or Reading, UK
🏢 Working Pattern: Hybrid – 2–3 days per week in the office
We are looking for an experienced Logistics Specialist to join a busy logistics operation, supporting the planning and execution of domestic and international logistics movements.
🔹 Key Responsibilities
- Act as the logistics focal point for business line logistics movements.
- Validate transport requests and delivery requirements.
- Plan shipments, truck routings, load plans and cargo consolidation.
- Identify backload and cargo optimisation opportunities.
- Coordinate with logistics suppliers, freight forwarders and carriers.
- Monitor shipment execution, track movements and manage deviations.
- Manage fixed schedules and regional milk runs.
- Issue work orders and obtain relevant cost approvals.
- Monitor carrier performance, including on-time pickup and delivery.
- Coordinate international and domestic shipments in line with company policies and local regulations.
- Work closely with Import/Export teams to ensure smooth movement of goods.
- Maintain accurate logistics documentation and milestone data.
- Investigate deviations and implement corrective and preventative actions.
- Support logistics performance reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Shortlist freight forwarding offers and support freight cost management.
