Job Description

In this role you'll be collaborating as part of a team to handle TJX customs activities in the UK and EU, working closely with designated customs brokers to ensure accurate and timely submission of customs entries. Ensuring compliance with UK and EU regulations, audit requirements, and promoting standards in customs processes across the organization. Additionally, guiding the business on international trade regulations that may impact product sourcing, including potential restrictions and costs.

Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate with UK and EU customs brokers to ensure products are exported and imported efficiently, in compliance with regulations and within expected lead times.
- Be responsible for the resolution of queries raised by customs brokers, freight forwarders, and TJX Buyers & Suppliers.
- Build and harness strong relationships with both internal and external partners.
- Identify and communicate to leadership emerging customs changes that may impact the business.
- Identify and implement opportunities for efficiencies, increased compliance, and rapidly growing capabilities within the TJX Supply Chain.
- Support with the roll-out of new UK/EU regulations, including but not limited to EUDR, CBAM, ESPR.
- Classify goods using the UK/EU trade tariff as required.
- Play a key role in customs-related projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Present regulations to partners at all levels of the business.
- Respond to any queries from customs offices.
- Handle 3PL performance through lead time monitoring and exception management, identifying areas of improvement and driving enhancements through the day-to-day operation.
- Handle 3PL compliance through clear and robust SOPs, regular review, and post-entry audits.

Key Skills, Knowledge & Experience
Essential:
- Previous experience of UK and EU customs regulations and procedures (e.g. SCDP, RGR, Customs Warehousing, TSS, etc.).
- Experience of customs classification.
- Knowledge of UK/EU preference agreements and associated documentation.
- Track record of delivering Customs process enhancements within the supply chain.
- Proficient user of Microsoft Office packages.
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
Desired:
- Customs specific qualification.
- Knowledge of controlled goods regulations.
