Logistics Supervisor

Location: Blyth
Job Type: Permanent

We are seeking an experienced Logistics Supervisor to oversee day-to-day logistics operations on a large-scale project site. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating material movements, managing storage arrangements, scheduling deliveries, and supporting the smooth running of site operations. This role requires strong organisational skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.

Day-to-day of the Role:

  • Coordinate the receipt, storage, and movement of materials across the site.
  • Manage delivery schedules to ensure materials arrive in line with project requirements.
  • Maintain effective control of storage areas, ensuring materials are organised and readily accessible.
  • Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to facilitate efficient logistics operations.
  • Support site teams by ensuring materials and equipment are available when required.
  • Monitor site access and vehicle movements to minimise disruption and maintain safe working practices.
  • Ensure deliveries are planned and managed effectively to avoid congestion and operational delays.
  • Assist with workforce coordination and ensure tasks are completed in accordance with site procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records relating to labour allocation, deliveries, and site activities.
  • Promote high standards of health, safety, and housekeeping across all logistics operations.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Previous experience within construction, engineering, or a similar operational environment.
  • Strong organisational and coordination skills with the ability to prioritise multiple activities.
  • Experience working with contractors, suppliers, and operational teams.
  • Good understanding of material handling, storage management, and delivery coordination.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced site-based environment.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Relevant construction, logistics, or engineering qualifications would be beneficial but are not essential.
