Why This Role Matters
Why the role exists
Logistics Operatives are responsible for keeping stock moving seamlessly across the business—handling initial intake, breakdown, and routing inventory directly to Marketplace. As a Logistics Shift Lead, you will create the environment that enables the team to deliver those standards consistently.
You will direct a team of Logistics Operatives focused strictly on day-shift breakdown operations and initial facility arrival. This involves setting clear expectations, coaching performance, handling day-to-day team queries and conduct, and using shift metrics to resolve workflow bottlenecks quickly on the floor.
As the key escalation point for complex stock issues, you will collaborate with teams across Vintage.com to maintain inventory integrity while building your team's confidence to handle operational challenges independently over time.
What success looks like
- Zero operational delays in moving stock and returns to downstream departments.
- High shift output alongside top-tier inventory and sorting accuracy.
- A well-trained, highly engaged team that meets performance standards.
- Safe, compliant, and hazard-free floor operations during peak and non-peak periods.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
