Our Grocery Service Centre, based near Liverpool, is a hub for transactional activity across multiple ABF companies within the ABF Grocery division. Supporting some of our well-known brands such as Kingsmill, Pataks, Blue Dragon, Jordans, Ryvita, and Silver Spoon, amongst others. We deliver Shared Service activities across a wide range of disciplines including Customer Services, Consumer Care, Finance, Payroll, HR, and IS.

No previous logistics experience? No problem. We're not looking for someone who already knows everything about transport and logistics.

Earn, Learn, And Gain Real Experience
You'll combine structured apprenticeship learning with hands-on experience in our busy Transport Team.
Around 80% of your time will be spent learning and working alongside the team, with 20% dedicated to your apprenticeship learning and development.
You'll gradually learn how a busy transport operation works and develop practical experience in areas including:
- Day-to-day transport operations
- Working with and supporting our drivers
- Driver debriefs and administration
- Route planning and transport scheduling
- Vehicle tracking and telematics
- Fleet management and compliance
- Transport legislation and driver hours
- Investigating delivery and customer service issues
- Producing and analysing reports
- Using Excel and transport systems
- Understanding how an HGV fleet is managed safely and efficiently
We don't expect you to know how to do all of this when you join us. That's what the apprenticeship and our training are there for.
Transport and logistics is a 7-day operation, so your shift pattern will include some weekend and Bank Holiday working. This is a normal part of working within the transport industry and, as you develop and progress your career, gaining experience across different days and operational periods will help you build a well-rounded understanding of how a busy transport operation works.

Previous Logistics Experience Isn't Required.
What we're interested in is someone who is reliable, motivated, enthusiastic, and committed to their own development.
You'll need a good standard of computer skills and be comfortable using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, as systems, data, and information play an important part in modern transport operations.
You'll also need strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and the confidence to work with different people across our operation.
