About the Role
If you would like to work in a busy transport office where no one day will be the same and you will have ongoing training & development, this is the Transport Planner role for you. Great company, great team and really great location.
Job Role / Duties
- Plan and coordinate daily transport routes and vehicle allocations, ensuring deliveries are completed safely, efficiently, and on time.
- Monitor deliveries and respond quickly to delays or operational issues.
- Communicate with drivers, customers, and internal teams regarding schedules and updates.
- Ensure compliance with transport regulations, driver hours, and health & safety requirements.
- Optimise routes to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs.
- Maintain accurate transport records and planning documentation.
- Coordinate vehicle maintenance schedules and availability.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the transport operation.
- Use transport management systems (TMS) and other logistics software effectively.
- Work closely with drivers, warehouse teams, and customers to maintain high service standards while optimising routes and transport costs.

Requirements for This Role
- Have experience in transport planning, logistics, or fleet coordination.
- Be highly organised and possess good problem-solving skills.
- Have proven ability working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple priorities.
- Possess good geographical knowledge and route-planning ability.
- Be an excellent written and verbal communicator.
- Be highly competent in Microsoft Office and transport planning systems.
- Understand driver hours, transport compliance, and health & safety regulations.
- Ideally possess CPC qualification or knowledge of transport compliance.
- Understand logistics KPIs and reporting.
