About the Role

If you would like to work in a busy transport office where no one day will be the same and you will have ongoing training & development, this is the Transport Planner role for you. Great company, great team and really great location.


Job Role / Duties

  • Plan and coordinate daily transport routes and vehicle allocations, ensuring deliveries are completed safely, efficiently, and on time.
  • Monitor deliveries and respond quickly to delays or operational issues.
  • Communicate with drivers, customers, and internal teams regarding schedules and updates.
  • Ensure compliance with transport regulations, driver hours, and health & safety requirements.
  • Optimise routes to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs.
  • Maintain accurate transport records and planning documentation.
  • Coordinate vehicle maintenance schedules and availability.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the transport operation.
  • Use transport management systems (TMS) and other logistics software effectively.
  • Work closely with drivers, warehouse teams, and customers to maintain high service standards while optimising routes and transport costs.

Requirements for This Role

  • Have experience in transport planning, logistics, or fleet coordination.
  • Be highly organised and possess good problem-solving skills.
  • Have proven ability working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple priorities.
  • Possess good geographical knowledge and route-planning ability.
  • Be an excellent written and verbal communicator.
  • Be highly competent in Microsoft Office and transport planning systems.
  • Understand driver hours, transport compliance, and health & safety regulations.
  • Ideally possess CPC qualification or knowledge of transport compliance.
  • Understand logistics KPIs and reporting.
