Salary range: pro-rata salary of £29,000 per year

Kickstart your career in entertainment PR as a London Film Festival Intern with DDA gaining hands-on experience in coverage reporting, media monitoring, and event management.

DDA provides creative and insightful strategies, tailored campaign solutions, and a ‘round-the-clock’ service across all the agency’s lines of business, which includes US and UK Film, Series and Games Publicity and Influencer Campaigns, Awards Campaigns, Strategic Consumer and Corporate Communications, Influencer management, Entertainment and Brands Social Media campaigns, Creative Studios, Brand Partnerships, International and Festival publicity, Live Event Design and Production, Live Content Production and International Festival Event Management and Logistics.

Key learning and responsibilities

  • Fine-tune the basics of coverage reporting and associated media monitoring tasks
  • Become comfortable performing administrative tasks and aid in general office support
  • Understand PR communications on a global level
  • Experience day-to-day operations of a public relations agency, providing on-the-ground support as required
  • Involvement in large and small scale premieres, screen talks and photocalls as directed by the LFF team
  • Maintain reports and other documents as requested by members of the team
  • Handle press RSVPs for key media events throughout the course of the festival
  • Become familiar with industry outlets and journalists
  • Gain a deeper understanding of the film industry

Knowledge, skills, and experience

  • A passion for cinema and television as well as a keen interest in publicity
  • A ‘can-do’ attitude to apply to difficult challenges and tasks
  • A passion for learning
  • Ability to multi-task and stay organized to meet multiple deadlines
  • A team player, willing to share knowledge and discuss approaches and tactics but also able to work independently
  • High emotional intelligence and a keenness to remain attuned to the needs of the team
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work quickly and effectively without sacrificing quality
  • Excellent time management and able to manage priorities effectively
  • Pro-active & intuitive
