Global Markets is BNP Paribas’ capital markets business within the Corporate & Institutional Bank (CIB), delivering solutions across asset classes, and industry-leading services for clients including Institutionals, corporates, private banks and retail distribution networks.

The Structured Credit desk provides market access to clients requiring exposure to/or hedging of credit risks through a broad variety of structured products, ranging from single name structures to more complex portfolio transactions such as CLNs, CDOs, FTDs, AMC & CMDC’s etc.

Developing and structuring complex volatility products and derivatives to meet the investment objectives of our clients and the organisation. The team proactively identifying new business opportunities and develop potential solutions.

Job Purpose

The role is to assist senior team members in the day to day business activities and contribute to a variety of tasks under constant supervision allowing a general introduction to the business.

Structuring is primarily responsible for being the product managers and business developers for their asset class. They should proactively identify new business opportunities by working with salespeople, sector specialists and by visiting clients to understand client problems and develop potential solutions; understanding market developments and changes (via sales, external intel and clients) and promoting relevant opportunities and solutions; helping to disseminate information about trends and themes to salespeople in other regions. Structuring is responsible for driving TAC and NAC approvals. It is also their role to provide sales with support and training on pricing tools where sales own the pricing responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in Technical and Business Skills Training
  • Support senior team members with day to day activities
  • Complete specific assignments
  • Participate in the day-to-day business of the team, which consists in answering to internal stakeholder’s requests/needs in terms of Structured Credit products & solutions and creating value for the bank.
  • Participate in the regular computation and dissemination of pricing runs
  • Work on developing forefront product concepts/trade ideas/client driven solutions.
  • Developing Drafting & reviewing term sheets and conducting scenario analysis
  • Work actively with the team and trading on the modelling and pricing of these structured products
  • Improve the team’s efficiency through automation where relevant
  • Help with the team’s reporting requirements

Requirements

  • Degree from a leading university with an excellent academic record; or equivalent work experience
  • Good understanding of financial markets
  • Finance, Economics or Engineering background.
  • Coding ability
  • Curious and eager to learn
  • Confident verbal, written communication and networking skills
  • Proficient with MS Office tools, including Excel
  • Great organisational, multitasking and time management skills
  • Strong analysis and judgement
  • Meticulous accuracy with a keen eye for detail
  • Team player, proactive, independent, enthusiastic self-starter with strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent spoken and written English. Additional languages are an advantage
