This is an opportunity to take ownership of a specialist collections portfolio covering clients across the UK, Australia, Canada and North America. The role can be based from our Bristol, Leeds, Liverpool or Manchester office on a hybrid basis, giving you the opportunity to work closely with Partners, brokers, underwriters and Finance colleagues to improve how fees are processed and collected through the London Insurance Market. You’ll have the autonomy to strengthen processes, accelerate settlement and develop your specialist knowledge of ECF, GEMINI and other London Market platforms, with training available where required.
Responsibilities
- Review London Market policy and matter information to determine the correct collection route, taking ownership of fees processed through ECF, GEMINI and other third-party systems.
- Work closely with Fee Earners, brokers and underwriters to obtain missing information such as Unique Market References and Unique Claim References.
- Complete relevant electronic submissions, monitor progress through to settlement and resolve queries within agreed service levels.
- Work collaboratively with billing, collections and cashiering colleagues to create an effective end-to-end billing and collection process.
- Identify non-Market collections, support the prompt settlement of direct payers, advise on payments received and enable accurate allocation.
- Build strong stakeholder relationships, educate colleagues on London Market processes and use effective portfolio management to support cash-flow and debtor-day targets.

What will help you succeed in this role?
Essential
- Good understanding of the London Insurance Market, including brokers, underwriters, syndicates and coverholder policies.
- Experience within collections, credit control, claims operations, insurance finance or a related environment.
- Strong stakeholder-management skills, with the confidence to obtain information and resolve queries professionally.
- Organised and detail-focused approach, with the ability to manage competing priorities, deadlines and service levels.
- Professional but tenacious approach to collections, with a clear focus on quality, ownership and results.
- Confidence using Microsoft applications and customer-management, finance or accounting systems.
Desirable
- Experience using ECF, GEMINI, Xchanging, Fees Direct or another London Market processing platform.
- Understanding of Unique Market References, Unique Claim References and London Market policy information.
- Experience completing electronic claims, invoice or fee submissions and monitoring them through to settlement.
- Previous experience working with insurance brokers, underwriters, managing agents or claims teams.
- Experience supporting cash allocation, cashiering or reconciliations following receipt of payment.
- Exposure to international stakeholders or portfolios spanning multiple jurisdictions.
