This is a full-time, on-site London News Correspondent role based in the London Area, United Kingdom. The correspondent will research, pitch, and produce original news stories focused on UK and European developments relevant to global Chinese audiences, ensuring timely and accurate coverage. Daily responsibilities include:

- Conducting interviews
- Gathering information from multiple sources
- Verifying facts
- Writing clear, compelling news reports and features for broadcast and digital platforms
The role involves:
- Coordinating with editors and producers in Hong Kong and other bureaus
- Contributing to live reports
- Supporting multimedia content production such as video packages and social media updates
The correspondent will maintain strong local contacts, monitor breaking news, and uphold Phoenix TV’s editorial standards and journalistic ethics.
Qualifications
- Strong news writing and general writing skills, with the ability to produce clear, engaging, and accurate news stories under deadline.
- Editorial and research capabilities, including story development, fact-checking, source verification, and familiarity with newsroom workflows.
- Multimedia skills, such as working with video, on-camera reporting, or digital content creation for web and social media platforms.
- Fluency in Chinese (Mandarin preferred) and strong English communication skills, both written and spoken.
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, media studies, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Demonstrated experience as a reporter or correspondent, ideally covering UK, European, or international news.
- Ability to work in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments, with strong news judgment and adherence to ethical reporting standards.
- Familiarity with the Chinese media landscape and global Chinese communities is an advantage.
