Maven Securities Summer Internship
Maven Securities is a leading proprietary trading firm that uses sophisticated technology and quantitative analysis to trade global financial markets. We specialise in options and derivatives market making, where your skills can have a real impact.
At Maven, we believe exceptional careers are built deliberately. Our summer internship is designed for a small number of high-potential students each year, combining structured training with practical exposure. We don’t hire large classes expecting only a few to succeed; we invest in every individual who joins the programme.
Programme Details
- Location: London
- Programme dates: 21st June – 20th August 2027
- Application deadline: 21st October 2026
Key Requirements:
- You must have the right to work in the region you are applying for at the time of application
- You must be a penultimate-year undergraduate or master’s student
- You must not have applied for any other Maven programmes in this cycle
What You Will Be Doing
- Build practical trading skills in our simulation environment, applying your learning to real market scenarios
- Use the same tools as our traders - or build your own - and observe the same trades being executed in the live market
- Learn directly from traders across different desks through shadowing and regular interaction, with opportunities to ask questions and understand their day-to-day approach
- Take part in a dedicated Reading Week, working independently on a project and exploring an area of interest
How and What You Will Learn
- Build your foundations in options market making - we don’t expect prior knowledge
- Develop your understanding of options theory, pricing, probability and risk with Maven’s in-house trainers
- Apply your knowledge through trading simulation, testing different strategies, learning from experience and building confidence as a trader
- Develop your understanding of the wider market through macroeconomics and technical training
- Progress through clear learning milestones, with ongoing feedback from the Trading and Emerging Talent teams

Who You Are
Key Criteria
- Strong numeracy skills and a good understanding of probability and statistics
- A genuine interest in financial markets and a curiosity to learn
- A willingness to adopt and utilise emerging AI technologies
