Lone Engineer - Inland Waterways Barge
We are seeking an experienced Lone Engineer to join our inland waterways barge operation. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair and day-to-day operation of all vessel machinery and engineering systems, ensuring the safe and efficient running of the barge.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain main engines, generators, hydraulic and auxiliary systems.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance and repairs.
- Diagnose and rectify mechanical and electrical faults.
- Maintain engineering records and spare parts inventory.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations.

Requirements
- Marine engineering qualification or equivalent engineering experience.
- Strong mechanical, electrical and hydraulic fault-finding skills.
- Ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions.
- Experience in marine engineering desirable.
- Commitment to safe working practices and high standards of maintenance.
- Right to work in the UK.
