40 hours biweekly (10 hour shifts)
Salary:
As per the Collective Agreement
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience with caregiving or volunteer experience with seniors/vulnerable populations.
- Physically able to push/pull 50 lbs.
- 1-2 years post-secondary education an asset.
- Experience supporting recreational, social, or group activities is considered an asset.
- CPR/First Aid and WHMIS are considered assets.
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential requirement of this position.

Major Responsibilities
- Reports to the Charge Nurse at the beginning of each shift.
- Communicates with each resident care wing and the kitchen regarding daily support and meal assistance.
- Maintains regular communication with the care team throughout the shift.
- Engage and support residents in meaningful tasks that do not encompass direct personal care.
- Supports the resident dining experience by providing meal assistance under the instruction and guidance of the registered nurse or licensed practical nurse.
- Assists resident/clients to their scheduled activities, celebrations, and events. Assistance may be in the form of assisted ambulation or transporting the resident by wheelchair.
- Other related duties as necessary.
