Long term post - RVH ED Reg Locum Requirement - 1 year from Aug 2026

Locum Doctor (Registered Level) – Royal Victoria Hospital (RVH) ED

Duration: August 2026 – August 2027 Location: Northern Ireland (UK)

Direct Medics, celebrating 25 years in the healthcare recruitment industry, are seeking an experienced locum doctor to fill this critical role in the RVH Emergency Department (ED).


About the Role

The NHS Trust requires a fully registered, experienced Emergency Medicine Specialist (Independent Prescriber or Emergency medicine foundation doctor with a specialty connection) to work:

  • Day shifts
  • Evenings
  • Nights
  • Weekends

Rotating on a 1:13 doctor rota.


Essential Requirements

✅ Valid GMC Registration with full licence to practise ✅ Right to work in the UK ✅ Minimum of 6 months’ experience in a similar UK locum ED role (or equivalent)

Essential Criteria

✅ Minimum of 2 years’ emergency medicine experience (Note: Foundation doctors may apply for consideration depending on specialty context.)

Desirable Criteria

✅ Minimum 1 year of anaesthetic/ICU experience, with demonstrable airway skills ✅ MRCEM or equivalent qualification ✅ Certification, including but not limited to:

  • ALT (Advanced Life Support)
  • ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support)
  • APLS (Advanced Paediatric Life Support)
