Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Loss Prevention Officer role based at W Edinburgh. The Loss Prevention Officer is responsible for safeguarding guests, team members, and property by monitoring security systems, conducting regular patrols of the hotel premises, and identifying potential risks. Daily tasks include observing and reporting suspicious activity, assisting in investigations of incidents, enforcing hotel security policies, and collaborating with hotel management and local authorities when needed. The role also involves supporting emergency response procedures, maintaining accurate incident documentation, and providing a visible, approachable security presence that promotes safety while upholding W’s guest-focused environment.

- Candidates should possess skills in Retail Loss Prevention and Prevention to reduce theft, fraud, and operational risk.
- Candidates should possess strong Communication skills to interact effectively with guests, colleagues, and external partners.
- Candidates should possess Physical Security skills to manage access control, patrols, and safety checks across the property.
- Candidates should possess Surveillance skills to monitor CCTV systems and other security technologies accurately.
- Relevant experience in hospitality or retail security, including incident reporting and emergency response, is beneficial.
- Knowledge of basic security and safety regulations, and the ability to remain calm and professional under pressure, is preferred.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and to stand or walk for extended periods.
- Background checks may be required in line with local regulations and company policy.
