Advanced Nurse Practitioner (Band 7)

WalkIn Service: Out of Hours Urgent Care (GMED)

The WalkIn Service, hosted by the Out of Hours Primary Care (GMED) team, is seeking to recruit an Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) to join our dynamic and responsive urgent care service.

WalkIn services provide sameday access to urgent primary care without the need for a booked appointment and form part of a major national pilot programme funded by the Scottish Government. This innovative programme is helping to shape future models of urgent and unscheduled care across Scotland.

This role would suit an experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioner who is confident working autonomously in a fastpaced urgent care environment, and who is motivated to contribute to the ongoing development of a new service model.

As an Advanced Nurse Practitioner within the WalkIn Centre, you will provide advanced clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and onward referral for patients across the age spectrum presenting with undifferentiated illness, minor and major injury, and urgent medical conditions. You will work closely with GP colleagues, the Clinical Lead, Service Manager and the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver highquality, safe and personcentred care.

You will practise with a high level of clinical autonomy, supported by evidencebased practice, NHS Grampian policies and professional guidelines, and will play an active role in service development, audit, education and clinical leadership within the WalkIn Service.

Posts available: 1.5 WTE

Location: Aberdeen City & Shire

Flexibility is essential, as the role includes evening and weekend working, and postholders will be expected to contribute to service cover arrangements, including colleague annual and study leave.

Enhanced pay rates apply for agreed evening and weekend working.

Contract: Fixed term/Secondment (12 months)

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
