Graduate Opportunity | Secondary School | Full-Time

Principal Education are looking for an enthusiastic, empathetic and driven Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a secondary school from September.

This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or postgraduate who is considering a future career in teaching, psychology, therapy, education, pastoral support or a related field.

The school is looking for someone with the right attitude, personality and potential rather than extensive previous experience. You will have the opportunity to work closely with students across GCSE classes, supporting their academic progress, confidence and engagement with learning.

The Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, You Will

  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support to students across GCSE classes.
  • Support students with a range of learning needs, helping them access the curriculum and achieve their potential.
  • Build positive, trusting and professional relationships with students.
  • Work alongside teachers to support students effectively within the classroom.
  • Help students develop their literacy, numeracy, confidence and independent learning skills.
  • Support bilingual and EAL students, developing an awareness of individual language profiles and adapting your approach to help students access learning.
  • Encourage students to engage positively with their education and develop greater independence.
  • Remain calm, patient and empathetic when supporting students who may require additional guidance.
  • Be flexible and willing to work across different subjects and GCSE classes.
  • Contribute positively to the wider school environment and work collaboratively with teaching and support staff.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
