Luggage Porter – Pre-Opening Role
Waldorf Astoria London – Admiralty Arch
The Admiralty Arch site of Waldorf Astoria London is appointing a Luxury Luggage Porter to join the team during the hotel’s highly anticipated pre-opening phase. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced hospitality professional to contribute to an iconic London landmark as it launches this year.
About Waldorf Astoria London & The Role
Situated at the end of The Mall, directly opposite Buckingham Palace, Waldorf Astoria London – Admiralty Arch will feature:
- 100 elegant rooms and suites
- 17,500 sqft of private residences
- Two Michelin-starred signature restaurants:
- Coreus, by celebrated chef Clare Smyth
- Café Boulud, by legendary chef Daniel Boulud
- A world-class Spa & Fitness Centre
- Grand event spaces, including a ballroom for 320 guests
As a key member of the founding team, you’ll play a vital role in establishing the legendary Waldorf Astoria service standard—where visionary luxury meets effortless guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Working under the guidance of the Pre-Opening Team, your role will include:
- Efficient handling of guest luggage, ensuring seamless check-in and controlled access during pre-opening
- ** Supporting the hotel’s vision** for impeccable guest experiences right from the opening weeks
- Assisting with placement and carrying of luggage to the correct room or destination
- Maintaining a refined, silent-service approach in line with Waldorf Astoria’s luxury identity
- Performing light housekeeping and prep tasks to support the pre-opening readiness
- Collaborating closely with hotel operations teams to ensure flawless coordination

Ideal Candidate Requirements
We seek a dedicated hospitality professional with:
- Proven experience in a luxury hotel or fine dining environment (preferably with pre-opening/opening-day support)
- A colourful, clean legacy branding including:
- A keen eye for detail and presentation
- Robust physical fitness to carry luggage (15–20kg maxs) up to four floors
- Customer service mindset—passionate about exceeding guest expectations
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Result-adds for filming in professional attire (wet walk-through of London)
- Available flexible hours during pre-opening (weekends and weekdays included)
