Help Us Detect Lung Cancer Earlier and Save Lives.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our growing Lung Cancer Screening Programme at Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust. We are looking for a highly organised, motivated and compassionate individual to support the delivery of this life-saving service.
The National Lung Cancer Screening Programme is a key NHS initiative designed to identify lung cancer at an earlier stage, giving patients the best possible chance of successful treatment and improved outcomes. As the programme continues to expand, this role offers the opportunity to make a real difference to patients and help shape a developing service.
As Lung Cancer Screening Coordinator, you will:
- Play a pivotal role in supporting patients throughout their screening journey
- Act as a key point of contact and ensure they receive a seamless, high-quality experience
- Work closely with the Lung Cancer Screening Team, Respiratory Consultants, Cancer Services, MDT Coordinators and Diagnostic Services
- Coordinate patient pathways
- Track progress through screening and diagnostic processes
- Support multidisciplinary team discussions

- Has substantial administrative and organisational experience within a healthcare or complex service environment
- Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with patients and colleagues
- Is confident working independently, managing competing priorities and meeting deadlines
- Has strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications and data management systems
- Has experience organising meetings, maintaining accurate records and supporting service delivery
- Understands the importance of patient-centred care and can communicate sensitively with individuals who may be anxious or distressed
- Is proactive, enthusiastic and committed to continuous improvement
Experience of working within cancer services, patient pathways or NHS administration would be advantageous but is not essential.
