Role Description
The LV Cable Jointer is a full-time, on-site role based in Burntwood, responsible for installing, jointing, terminating, and maintaining low voltage (LV) power cables for vending and associated electrical systems.
Day-to-day tasks include:
- Preparing work sites
- Reading and interpreting electrical drawings
- Carrying out cable jointing and terminations to industry standards
- Testing completed work to ensure safety and reliability
- Diagnosing cable faults
- Performing repairs
- Completing necessary documentation such as test results, work reports, and safety records

The role involves collaborating with electricians, engineers, and operations staff, following all relevant health and safety procedures, and ensuring compliance with company and regulatory requirements. The position may require occasional travel between customer sites, adherence to scheduled work, and participation in emergency or out-of-hours call-outs as needed.

Qualifications
- Strong LV cable jointing and terminating skills, including experience with underground and panel terminations.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Knowledge of electrical safety standards, safe isolation procedures, and relevant regulations.
- Experience using electrical test equipment (e.g., insulation resistance testers, continuity testers) and recording results accurately.
- Relevant vocational qualification or apprenticeship in Electrical Installation, Power Distribution, or a related field.
- Previous experience in LV cable jointing, utilities, facilities, or industrial electrical environments is highly beneficial.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work methodically under time constraints.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to safe working practices, with a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally between work sites as required.
