Low Voltage Authorised Person (LVAP) / Testing Manager
We are seeking an experienced Low Voltage Authorised Person (LVAP) / Testing Manager to lead electrical testing activities and manage the safe control of LV systems through installation, commissioning and handover. This is an opportunity to take a key role in technically demanding projects within an established business.
The Role
Working closely with project teams, commissioning managers, specialist subcontractors and client representatives, you will coordinate electrical testing and energisation activities, maintain clear safety controls and ensure systems are ready for successful handover.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Manage LV electrical testing, inspection and commissioning activities against project programmes and specifications.
- Undertake LVAP duties within the scope of your formal appointment and the project’s electrical safety procedures.
- Coordinate safe isolation, switching, energisation and permit activities, maintaining accurate records and clear communication.
- Develop and review testing plans, commissioning procedures, risk assessments and method statements.
- Lead testing engineers and specialist subcontractors, monitoring quality, progress and resource requirements.
- Review test results, certification and commissioning records, ensuring defects are identified, resolved and closed out.
- Coordinate interfaces with mechanical, controls and other electrical systems.
- Support client inspections, witness testing and project handover, ensuring documentation is complete and accurate.
- Promote high standards of electrical safety, workmanship and accountability across the project team.

About You
You will bring:
- Experience in an LVAP, Electrical Testing Manager, Electrical Commissioning Manager or similar role.
- A relevant electrical qualification and a strong background in electrical installation, inspection and testing.
- Experience managing LV safety procedures, permits, switching and energisation on construction projects.
- A sound understanding of LV distribution systems, electrical drawings, testing requirements and commissioning processes.
- Experience delivering complex M&E projects; exposure to data centres, pharmaceutical facilities, commercial developments or industrial projects is particularly valuable.
- The ability to lead teams, coordinate subcontractors and manage competing project priorities.
- Strong communication skills and a structured approach to safety, quality and documentation.

Previous formal LVAP appointments and recognised inspection and testing qualifications would be advantageous. Any LVAP appointment will be subject to the employer’s competence assessment and authorisation process.
