Job Summary

This position works within a Matrix environment daily reporting to either the ILT(A) Exercise Project Delivery Lead or Project Manager in the delivery of Live, Virtual and Constructive (LVC) training for combined arms tactical exercises and events. The LVC Training Analyst Senior Lead will provide mentorship, coaching and training through subject matter expertise in the delivery of CDUK LVC ILT(A) projects, principally across the UK, and Europe and other global opportunities when presented. The position contributes to maintaining CDUK core contract ILT(A) project delivery by managing a team of Training Analysts for the delivery of Live, Virtual and Constructive training for combined arms tactical exercises and events. The role includes the collaboration and coordination of Exercise Control (EXCON) duties, during discrete training events with stakeholder engagement, data compilation and performance feedback analysis. Critical to the success of this role is building relationships; collaboration in the control of EXCON outputs, accurately capturing and reporting on operational and performance data for internal and external stakeholders and developing internal systems to support the needs of CDUK and customer to deliver world class training and support the lesson identification process. This position typically works under general supervision and direction and interacts with both internal and external stakeholders.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the team and the military user to achieve outputs.
  • Manage a team of Training Analysts and any resources allocated to achieve tasks.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder engagement with the military and other departments to build productive relationships.
  • Collaboration with military training providers and coordinate the team to deliver optimal Live, Virtual and Constructive (LVC) support to training events and facilities.
  • Establish Training Analyst and system requirements for specific training events and facilities.
  • Manage the use of software for the delivery for the training events and facilities as required.
  • Produce timely After-Action Review products, normally at Battlegroup or Brigade level, that make best use of presentation tools and are informed by data, doctrine, the training event / exercise provider and individual / collective experience.
  • Support training events, activities, and facilities at day and night and globally, as required.
  • Manage the development and administration of your team in-between training events and activities.

This role may involve areas of Delivery, Integration or Training and Standards:

Delivery

  • Covering the Delivery Team Lead as required.
  • Support planning efforts and the preparation of training events and facilities.
  • Troubleshoot exercise delivery as needed during exercises, ensuring a successful delivery by determining issues, identifying solutions and liaising with other departments / contractors / the Military.
  • Develop, adjust, and deliver the After-Action Review products used by the rest of the Team, in collaboration with stakeholders and counterparts.

Integration

  • Assist with introduction of new capabilities as required.
  • Maintain an understanding of military development and future analysis needs.
  • Development of future ILT(A) integration and capability.
  • Collaboration and integration with stakeholders and external organizations to deliver training support activities.

Training and Standards

  • Manage Training Analyst work routine and hours to ensure technical and analytical capacity is provided and maintained throughout the year.
  • Deliver training to Training Analysts and contractors to ensure the required standards and outputs are maintained.
  • Lead the ‘Lessons Identified’ process.
  • Liaise with system providers to answer technical questions and problem solve.

Minimum Job Requirements

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

Essential

  • Experience of Battlegroup & Brigade level + Combined Arms Manoeuvre doctrine and tactics on operations or exercises.
  • Staff level education or experience of Battlegroup and Brigade level + planning.
  • Experience of the [British Army] Combat Estimate process and doctrine at Battlegroup and Brigade level +.
  • Familiarity with all common MS applications.

Desirable

  • Understanding of and interest in data collection and exploitation of the data.
  • Indirect Fires, Combat Engineering, C5ISR and / or [C-]CBRN experience.
  • BG And Bde HQ experience.

Education and Qualifications

Essential

  • Completed UK comprehensive/Military education or higher.
  • Military service with successful completion of Commander Battle Courses or arms/services equivalent.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable

  • Instructional qualification.
  • Military staff training (Junior Officer Tactical Awareness Course – Intermediate Command and Staff Course, or service equivalent).
  • HGV C or C+E class driving licence.
