About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Advanced Public Health Practitioner to join the Health Improvement Team within Aberdeen City Health and Social Care Partnership.
This role forms part of an ambitious programme to strengthen prevention and health improvement capacity across Aberdeen City. Working alongside the Prevention Lead and wider public health team, you will play a key role in planning, developing, implementing and evaluating evidence-based prevention programmes that improve population health and reduce health inequalities.
You will lead and coordinate a portfolio of strategic public health work, working collaboratively with colleagues across Aberdeen City Health and Social Care Partnership, NHS Grampian, Aberdeen City Council, Community Planning Aberdeen and the third sector. The role will also provide professional leadership within the Health Improvement Team, including line management responsibilities, while supporting the development of innovative, whole-system approaches to prevention.
Requirements
- Relevant degree together with postgraduate qualification at Master's level in Public Health (or equivalent experience)
- Substantial experience of leading public health or health improvement programmes
- Excellent analytical, project management and partnership working skills
- Ability to interpret evidence, influence strategic decision-making and translate national policy into effective local delivery
- Effective communicator, able to build productive relationships across organisational boundaries
- Experience of staff management, service development and securing stakeholder engagement
