On 1 April 2026, NHS National Services Scotland (NSS) and NHS Education for Scotland (NES) became one national organisation, focused on continuity today and a stronger, more connected service for tomorrow.
As part of this transformation, NSS and NES have joined to form a new organisation: Public Services Delivery Scotland (PSD Scotland). This new organisation will play a pivotal role in supporting the renewal and ensuring the long-term sustainability of health and care services across Scotland.
About The Organisation
PSD Scotland unites expertise from NES and NSS in a way that will allow us to accelerate national programmes to support the NHS to deliver better care, now and in the future.
We support staff with education and training, provide the tools and data that improve services, and run vital national functions such as procurement, logistics and blood, tissue and cell services.

The NHS Scotland M365 Team is looking to recruit an M365 Information Governance Lead to support the safe and compliant national delivery and ongoing management of M365 products.
Working Closely With The M365 Delivery Lead, Records Management Lead, Security Lead, And Other Colleagues, You Will Act As The Data Protection Subject Matter Expert Of The Team. You Will Support Or Lead On a Wide Range Of Activities, Including
- Assessing platform functionality and applications, outlining potential risks and suggesting appropriate mitigations.
- Contributing to the development of national documentation, ensuring Health Boards are provided with information to support their own assessment of products and applications in line with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Translating complex technical information into clear, practical guidance for stakeholders.
- Building strong relationships with data protection professionals across NHS Scotland organisations.
- Finding practical and effective solutions to complex information governance and data protection issues within the capabilities and constraints of NHS Scotland’s M365 technology landscape.
- Collaborating with local, regional and national M365 stakeholders across multiple disciplines to identify good practice and translate it into workable national solutions.
- Providing direct support and advice on legislative and policy obligations to key stakeholders.
- Advising on and leading actions for NHSS M365 workstreams and activities.
- Representing the NHSS M365 Team at regional and national forums, in line with the role.
- Providing third-line support and advice on tools and functionality in the platform, e.g. eDiscovery, sensitivity labelling, sharing settings etc.

The successful candidate is required to build an understanding of the, sometimes competing, information governance and data protection demands placed on the NHSS M365 team. They will be expected to take an open, collaborative and inclusive approach to identifying Once for Scotland solutions that recognise the different needs, capabilities and requirements of the customer organisations that make up NHS Scotland.
The Candidate
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Information Governance and Data Protection professional with strong knowledge of relevant legislation, compliance requirements and risk management. Experience working in either NHS Scotland, healthcare or the wider public sector would be highly beneficial. They will be confident working in a multidisciplinary technology environment, able to advise and influence senior stakeholders, and skilled at translating complex information into clear, practical guidance for different audiences.
They will bring excellent communication, collaboration and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, work flexibly in a changing environment and maintain high standards of quality. The successful candidate will demonstrate sound judgement, integrity, attention to detail and a commitment to continuous improvement and professional development. Experience of Microsoft 365 tools would be advantageous.
Location and Working Pattern
This post can be based at Gyle Square, Edinburgh or Delta House, Glasgow.
Currently hybrid working.
The work pattern is Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week.
It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK and have entitlement to work in the UK for the post in which you will be employed.
