M365 Information Governance Lead

The Role

The NHS Scotland M365 Team is recruiting an M365 Information Governance Lead to support the safe and compliant delivery of M365 products. Working with the M365 Delivery Lead, Records Management Lead, Security Lead, and other colleagues, the role involves:

  • Assessing platform functionality and applications, outlining potential risks, and suggesting mitigations.
  • Contributing to the development of national documentation for Health Boards.
  • Translating complex technical information into clear guidance for stakeholders.
  • Building relationships with data protection professionals across NHS Scotland.
  • Finding solutions to complex information governance and data protection issues.
  • Collaborating with M365 stakeholders to identify good practice.
  • Providing direct support and advice on legislative and policy obligations.
  • Advising on and leading actions for NHSS M365 workstreams.
  • Representing the NHSS M365 Team at regional and national forums.
  • Providing third-line support and advice on platform tools and functionality.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will have experience in Information Governance and Data Protection, with strong knowledge of relevant legislation, compliance requirements, and risk management. Experience in NHS Scotland, healthcare, or the wider public sector is highly beneficial. The candidate should:

  • Be confident in a multidisciplinary technology environment.
  • Be able to advise and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Have excellent communication, collaboration, and organisational skills.
  • Be skilled at translating complex information into clear guidance.
  • Demonstrate sound judgement, integrity, attention to detail, and a commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Have experience with Microsoft 365 tools.

Location and Working Pattern

This post can be based at Gyle Square, Edinburgh, or Delta House, Glasgow. The working pattern is hybrid, Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week. Applicants must live and remain a resident within the UK and have entitlement to work in the UK.
