Senior Microsoft 365 Engineer
📍 Hybrid Working - 2 days onsite
💰 Inside IR35 - Umbrella £500-£600
Robert Half has partnered with a leading financial services organisation to recruit a Senior Microsoft 365 Engineer to join their enterprise technology team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Microsoft 365 specialist to take ownership of a large-scale M365 environment, driving platform strategy, security, governance, and the adoption of modern workplace technologies. The role will play a critical part in shaping the future of collaboration, productivity, and AI-enabled solutions across the business.
Working closely with infrastructure, security, architecture, and business stakeholders, you will provide technical leadership across the Microsoft ecosystem while supporting strategic cloud and digital transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the technical lead and subject matter expert for the Microsoft 365 platform.
- Design, implement and optimise enterprise solutions across Microsoft 365, including Teams, SharePoint Online, Exchange Online, OneDrive, Intune and Entra ID.
- Drive best practice around governance, security, compliance and platform administration.
- Support the adoption and development of AI-powered workplace technologies, including Microsoft Copilot.
- Develop technical roadmaps and contribute to the wider technology strategy.
- Lead solution design activities and produce architecture and technical documentation.
- Evaluate emerging Microsoft technologies and recommend improvements to the existing environment.
- Work with stakeholders across technology and the business to deliver scalable, secure and innovative solutions.
- Provide technical leadership for migration, transformation and platform enhancement projects.
- Mentor and support engineering teams while promoting engineering best practice.

Experience Required
- Significant experience administering and architecting enterprise Microsoft 365 environments.
- Strong expertise across Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Intune and Entra ID.
- Proven experience delivering Microsoft 365 migrations, transformations and platform improvements.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft security, compliance and governance frameworks.
- Experience working within complex enterprise environments.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Copilot and emerging AI technologies within the Microsoft ecosystem.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to senior stakeholders and business leaders.
- Excellent problem-solving, stakeholder management and leadership skills.

Desirable
- Microsoft certifications such as Microsoft 365 Enterprise Administrator Expert, Azure certifications or security-related qualifications.
- Experience within financial services, regulated environments or large corporate organisations.
