M&A Analyst – London
A specialist corporate finance advisory business is seeking an M&A Analyst to join its London-based team.
This is an opportunity for an ambitious transaction professional with 1–3 years of relevant experience to gain broad exposure to M&A execution, financial analysis, market research and business development.
The role would suit someone with strong analytical capabilities, excellent attention to detail and an interest in working within a fast-paced, entrepreneurial advisory environment.
The Role
The Analyst will support senior team members across a range of M&A and corporate finance assignments, with involvement throughout the transaction process.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the execution of M&A and corporate finance transactions
- Preparing financial analysis, valuation materials and transaction documentation
- Assisting with the preparation of presentations, pitch materials and other client-facing documents
- Conducting company, market and industry research
- Gathering and analysing market and transaction data
- Supporting financial and operational modelling
- Assisting with due diligence processes and transaction coordination
- Researching potential clients, investors and transaction opportunities
- Supporting business development and origination activities
- Monitoring relevant market developments and producing research and analysis
- Contributing to internal market intelligence and sector research
- Managing multiple projects and deadlines across different assignments
- Working closely with senior colleagues and supporting the wider deal team

Candidate Profile
The successful candidate is likely to have:
- 1–3 years' experience in M&A, corporate finance, investment banking or a closely related field
- Experience with financial analysis, modelling and valuation
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Excellent analytical and research capabilities
- A strong academic background, ideally with a 2:1 degree or equivalent
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and a rigorous approach to quality
- The ability to work effectively under pressure and meet demanding deadlines
- Strong organisational and project management skills
- Intellectual curiosity and a genuine interest in financial markets and transactions
- A proactive and resourceful approach to problem-solving
- The ability to work collaboratively within a small team
- Strong interpersonal skills and confidence working with colleagues at different levels
- A high level of integrity, initiative and professionalism
- The ability to take ownership of tasks while also responding effectively to direction and feedback
