Purpose
AE² acquires and builds UK businesses. Much of that depends on reaching owners who are not running a sale process. The person who we hire will convert prepared target information into initial conversations with those owners. The main aim is to produce meetings.
Scope of Services
- Outreach by telephone, email, LinkedIn or any other lawful means you judge effective, to owners, shareholders and directors on the target list AE² supplies.
- Contact with brokers and intermediaries on businesses already marketed, and progression of suitable opportunities to a first meeting.
- Direct proprietary outreach to businesses not currently marketed, and conversion of interested owners into an acquisition conversation. (We will provide the list)
- Scheduling each meeting into the diary of the AE² partner named for that target.
- Submission of a handover record within two working days of each meeting.
- Weekly review on performance, lessons learned etc
- Document an outreach system, scripts that are easy to follow
We need a proactive appointment setter to identify and contact potential M&A targets, schedule meetings with decision-makers, and maintain accurate records throughout the process.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
