Associate Director Opportunity
SJC Partners are excited to announce an opportunity for an Associate Director to join a top-tier BIG 4 professional services firm. This role focuses on the origination and execution of lead advisory mandates in the mid-market, with a strong emphasis on the Northern region, to assist clients in achieving their strategic objectives for buying or selling their companies.
About the Role
The successful individual will build and maintain senior and trusted client relationships across mid-market companies, global players, financial investors, and leading entrepreneurs. Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading projects in collaboration with Directors/Partners, acting as a senior contact for clients on M&A projects.
- Managing client interfaces and overseeing the day-to-day project management and delivery of M&A transactions across the transaction cycle.
- Directing and managing the preparation of transaction documentation, including pitch materials and client proposals.
- Supervising and reviewing financial analyses and complex models produced by team members.
- Developing strong relationships within the market while assuming responsibility for designated origination and business development efforts.
- Setting, monitoring, and controlling project budgets, billing, and reporting requirements.

Attributes, Qualifications & Skills
- Strong academic credentials (ACA, CFA, MBA, or equivalent).
- Significant M&A advisory experience with a proven ability to execute transactions and develop origination skills.
- Excellent numerical, analytical, and strategic thinking capabilities.
- A personal drive to deliver impactful results in a growing sector.
- Demonstrated expertise in financial modelling, including LBO and DCF analysis.

Experience & Background
- Relevant corporate finance experience in an investment bank, Top30 firm, private equity, M&A boutique, or corporate development role.
- Knowledge of financing structures, including debt project finance and equity infrastructure finance.
- Experience advising private sector clients and executing projects to financial close, including M&A and refinancing.
- Proficiency in business case writing and advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to interpret and present outputs from financial models to support commercial advice.
- Ability to engage with diverse stakeholders and companies, investors, and regulators.
