In this wide and varied role your role and responsibilities will include:

  • Leading day to day delivery of broking placements – including client and insurer engagement, preparation of insurer submissions, drafting of client reports, project managing the underwriting process, and handling policy binding
  • Supervise post transaction handling of invoicing and collating post-deal marketing collateral.
  • Manage collaborator relationships (with client and adviser relationships being key to business generation).
  • Attend external networking events, conferences, and seminars and contribute to business development efforts.
  • Boost understanding of the broader AMATS capabilities to effectively connect with collaborators.

How this opportunity is different

We advise clients across a broad range of transactions, including buy- and sell-side deals, carve‑outs, distressed M&A, and secondary market transactions. Our work spans both UK domestic and international mandates, covering the full valuation spectrum—from complex, multi‑billion‑pound transactions to sub‑£50m mid‑market deals.

As an Associate Director, you’ll have significant scope for career progression and play a key role in the next phase of growth of Aon’s Mid‑Market M&A capability. In the short term, the role sits within the Transaction Solutions team, with longer‑term opportunities across the wider AMATS division.

More broadly, as a global organisation, Aon offers outstanding career opportunities for high‑performing talent—both within the UK and internationally.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • W&I / Tax / or general Transaction Services experience ideally from within the legal sector
  • Working relationships/connections with the M&A advisory/private equity community in the local market
  • Project management responsibility within current or previous roles.
  • Experience in developing and managing relationships (internal and/or external) and attending networking events.
  • Experience in producing written outputs and strong attention to detail.
