M&A Associate — Financial Services

A highly regarded international investment bank is seeking an experienced M&A Associate to join its growing Financial Services advisory team in London.

The team advises a broad range of public and private-sector clients across specialist lending, consumer and commercial finance, and wider financial-services subsectors. It has an established cross-border franchise, combining deep sector expertise with a strong track record in sell-side, buy-side and capital-raising mandates.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Associate to take on meaningful execution responsibility within a collaborative, entrepreneurial and high-performing platform.

The Role

You will work closely with senior bankers and lean deal teams across live transactions, strategic assignments and business-development activity.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Taking a central role in the execution of M&A and capital-raising mandates
  • Building, reviewing and managing detailed financial models, valuation work and transaction analyses
  • Producing marketing materials, pitch books, management presentations and confidential information memoranda
  • Conducting company, sector, competitor and buyer research
  • Managing due-diligence workstreams and coordinating transaction processes
  • Supporting senior bankers with client coverage, idea generation and origination initiatives
  • Reviewing and developing Analyst work, providing day-to-day guidance and quality control
  • Building relationships with clients, investors and other market participants across the financial-services sector

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
