Job Overview
This opportunity is for an Associate with at least 1-year experience in an M&A, Corporate Development, Investment Banking or PE role. The Associate will support the full transaction lifecycle, from deal sourcing and evaluation through due diligence, execution, and integration. You will play a critical role in building financial models, financial statements analysis, and assisting the Director in evaluating M&A opportunities. A successful candidate is expected to have a high degree of attention to detail, initiative to execute assignments, and remain open to new responsibilities within the Corporate Development Team. The role is unique as you will be engaged in deal origination, closing to integration planning, and subsequent operations of the target company. Ability to travel to the US is a plus for this role but not mandatory.
Key Responsibilities
- Deal Sourcing and Screening: Analyze and screen potential acquisition targets based on strategic fit, financial performance, and valuation. Conduct industry and market research to identify trends, competitive landscapes, and acquisition opportunities.
- Financial Modeling and Financial Statement Analysis of Target Companies: Build and maintain complex financial models, and validate assumptions and assess risks. Understand the strategic and operational needs of target companies and translate key findings/observations into financial models – incorporate strategic inputs related to market capture, pricing, capital investment, hiring needs, etc.
- M&A Pipeline Building: Identify potential target M&A opportunities and assess the industry related thematic trends. Assist in evaluating potential M&A opportunities and structuring deal consideration. Understand the strategic and operational needs of target companies and translate key findings/observations into financial models.
- Due Diligence: Coordinate due diligence workstreams across financial, legal, operational, commercial and other areas. Summarize key findings and assist Director, M&A in making recommendations.
- Deal Execution: Support deal documentation review in collaboration with Director, M&A. Coordinate closing activities with various stakeholders. Assist in closing activities and post-merger integration planning.
- Assist in Senior Management Meetings and Updates, and Communications as Required.
- Maintain a Detailed Opportunity Funnel, Deal Tracker and Internal Trackers and Communication Channels as Needed.
- Setup and Attend Meetings with Potential Targets and Senior Management, and Take Detailed Notes.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in business, economics, accounting or related field.
- Having full-time experience in Finance, M&A, Investment Banking, Consulting, Corporate Development or Private Equity is helpful but not mandatory.
- Strong understanding of valuation, financial statements analysis and due diligence processes.
- Very strong knowledge of financial modeling, business financials and accounting.
- Excellent project management skills, communication abilities and strategic thinking.
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
- Self-starter and ability to work independently, think strategically, and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to travel to the US is a plus for this role but not mandatory.
