SJC Partners is supporting a fast-growing specialist M&A origination business with the appointment of an Acquisition Search Director focused on the Testing, Inspection, Certification and Compliance (TICC) sector.

The firm works with private equity investors, PE-backed businesses and acquisitive corporates to develop off-market acquisition opportunities.

Reporting to the Head of TICC, you will lead acquisition search mandates, engaging directly with business owners and senior executives to identify and progress potential transactions, supported by a dedicated research and outreach team.

We are seeking an experienced TICC professional with a background in senior commercial leadership, sales, business development, operations, M&A or corporate development.

The Role

  • Lead client relationships and acquisition search mandates across the TICC sector
  • Engage directly with business owners, founders, CEOs and shareholders
  • Position clients as attractive acquirers, articulating their strategy, differentiation and acquisition rationale
  • Explore target businesses' business models, financial performance, growth opportunities and shareholders' appetite for a potential sale
  • Assess strategic fit and provide clients with commercial insight and recommendations
  • Manage relationships with potential acquisition targets through initial engagement, introduction and ongoing discussions
  • Work closely with the Head of TICC and a dedicated research team to develop off-market acquisition opportunities

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
