What you can expect:
This is a unique permanent, full-time Analyst role based with the M&A team, working closely with the Business Manager to support the EMEA M&A and Financial Sponsors teams. The role includes providing support to the European M&A and Financial Sponsors Co-Heads, the European Head of Private Financing Solutions as well as wider members of the EMEA Investment Banking leadership team.
You will provide analytical, reporting and strategic support, helping to run the team’s coverage infrastructure and strategic objectives.
Core responsibilities include:
- M&A reporting and business management
- Helping produce the weekly Monday Morning M&A meeting pack, including pipeline and backlog summaries, mandate wins and buyside opportunities.
- Tracking and maintaining the deal pipeline and backlog, including reconciliation against finance reporting.
- Coordinating MARC (mandate approval) submissions and reporting, including for APAC.
- Running monthly and quarterly pipeline data, league table monitoring and competitor analysis.
- Maintaining internal coverage lists, meeting and coverage tracking data, databases and resources.
- Preparing periodic and ad hoc business performance presentations, including quarterly business reviews for senior management.

Financial Sponsors coverage
- Acting as a central point of contact for sponsor-related queries and workstreams across EMEA, working with bankers from Analyst to MD level across multiple products, sectors and regions.
- Managing the FSG (Financial Sponsors Group) coverage infrastructure, including sponsor tiering, mapping and coverage frameworks.
- Preparing sponsor relationship review materials, including portfolio holdings analysis.
- Maintaining the Exit Opportunities master file.
- Preparing discussion materials for, and coordinating, regular FSG sector and country calls.
- Researching the sponsor market, including Jefferies’ addressable wallet and fee pools across EMEA.

Execution support
- Pulling data and preparing materials for pitch decks and buyer strips.
- Maintaining the fundraising and dry powder master file.
- Providing fee precedent analysis, sponsor credentials and PE-related data to deal teams.

Strategic projects
- Supporting the EMEA Investment Banking leadership team on strategic initiatives, including the global corporate coverage initiative led from London.
- Supporting business initiatives as they arise, such as unit reviews, wallet analysis, coverage reallocation and client events.

- Automation and AI
- Driving efficiency across coverage and reporting processes through automation and AI tools.
- Automating core datasets and working with IT on business cases for in-house tools.
- Sharing best practice and helping train the wider team on AI and automation tools.
Education
- Bachelor's degree with a strong academic record.
- Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field highly advantageous.
Preferred Work Experience:
- Investment Banking Business Management / COO support gained within Financial Services would be highly advantageous.
- Experience supporting within an FP&A function.
- Big Four Transaction Services, Deal Advisory, or Audit professionals.
Key Skills Required:
- Analytical, with strong attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organisation and time management skills.
- Confidence working with senior stakeholders and handling requests from across the business.
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; proficient in Outlook and Word.
- Interest in, or experience with, AI tools and automation.
- Interest in M&A and private equity; (finance and accounting knowledge is an advantage).
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
