M&A Director - TMT
London | £125,000-£175,000 + significant bonus
I'm working with a specialist London M&A advisory firm looking to add a senior hire to its growing Technology, Media and Digital team.
This is a genuine Director-level role, sitting between the senior leadership team and the execution bench, with responsibility for both winning work and leading transactions through to completion.
The firm operates internationally and advises founders, management teams, corporates and private equity investors across sell-side M&A, acquisitions, capital raising and strategic advisory.
The opportunity would suit someone who wants to move away from a highly siloed investment banking environment and have considerably more ownership of clients, origination and deal economics.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Your very own career expert that helps elevate your application to the next level.
You will probably have 8-12+ years of Corporate Finance/M&A experience, although quality of transactions, relationships and commercial ability matters more than simply counting years.
You should already be comfortable leading deals and ideally have evidence of origination, fee generation or developing client relationships, rather than being purely execution-led.
Technology, Software, Media, Digital, Marketing Services or adjacent sector experience would be particularly useful.
This is suited to someone who wants a credible route towards Managing Director / Partner-level responsibility within a genuinely entrepreneurial advisory business.
