Our M&A advisory client's Industrials team specialises in mid-market deals predominantly at the £30-40m level, with larger deals ranging up to £100m, acting predominantly for owned managed businesses and private equity, with circa 75% of that being buy side. The team is currently a £5m revenue team and is seeking to double this within the next 3-4 years and this incoming director will play a pivotal part in this growth.
Our client has coverage across the South, Midlands and the North and can accommodate a candidate who requires flexibility in their location.
Whilst our client's preference is to hire an experienced director, they are very open to hiring an experienced senior manager / associate director who can demonstrate they are ready to take a step up.
Role & Responsibilities

- Team development: Develop, coach and motivate an experienced team. While the successful individual(s) will have an external / origination focus, they will not be successful without further developing a more delivery focused team;

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
