Are you a Chartered Accountant looking to move beyond a traditional finance role?

We're looking for a highly motivated M&A Financial Accountant / Associate to join our growing corporate finance advisory team.

This is a unique opportunity to combine your accounting expertise with live M&A transactions, working directly with business owners to prepare their businesses for sale.

You'll work alongside experienced dealmakers, helping clients improve their financial reporting, prepare management accounts and present robust financial information to potential buyers.

What you'll be doing

  • Preparing and reconstructing monthly management accounts for owner-managed businesses.
  • Building monthly P&Ls, balance sheets and cash flow statements from incomplete financial records.
  • Reconciling balance sheet accounts and preparing supporting schedules.
  • Analysing financial performance and identifying key business trends.
  • Supporting working capital and EBITDA analysis for live transactions.
  • Assisting with financial due diligence preparation.
  • Preparing financial analysis for information memoranda and client presentations.
  • Working closely with our corporate finance team throughout live M&A transactions.
  • Spending time on-site with clients where required to support their finance teams.

Who we're looking for

  • ACA or ACCA qualified.
  • Strong technical accounting background.
  • Experience in either:
    • Audit followed by a Finance Manager or Financial Controller role within an SME; or
    • Several years' experience as a Finance Manager or Financial Controller in an SME.
  • Experience preparing monthly management accounts.
  • Excellent Excel skills and strong analytical ability.
  • Outstanding attention to detail.
  • Commercially minded with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable working directly with entrepreneurs and senior management teams.
  • Willingness to travel to client sites when required.

Corporate finance or transaction experience is welcome but not essential. We are looking for someone with strong accounting fundamentals and the ability to solve problems, and we'll provide exposure to live transactions and M&A advisory work.
