Job Description & Summary

About the Role

As a Director in the M&A Operations Integration team, you will play a leading role in growing our M&A Integration business and delivering our most complex and high-profile client engagements.

You will originate and convert opportunities across the deal-timeline, lead complex integration engagements across the full deal lifecycle and act as a trusted advisor to Boards, C-suite executives, investors and senior deal teams. You will bring a strong understanding of how integration decisions influence deal value and will help clients translate transaction strategy into executable integration programmes that protect and maximise value.

Alongside direct client delivery, you will provide senior oversight across a portfolio of engagements, build enduring client relationships, develop new propositions and routes to market, and play a significant role in shaping the strategy and growth of the Integration practice.

You will also be a visible leader within the wider M&A Operations business, supporting the development of our people, strengthening connectivity across sectors and capabilities, and creating opportunities for the broader firm.

What Your Days Will Look Like

  • Building and growing senior client relationships, identifying client needs and originating, shaping and converting significant M&A Integration opportunities across Corporate and Private Equity clients.
  • Acting as a trusted advisor to Boards, C-suite executives, investors and senior management teams, bringing independent judgement and practical experience to complex integration, value creation and execution decisions.
  • Leading complex M&A integration engagements from strategy through execution, with accountability for client outcomes, quality, commercial performance and senior stakeholder relationships.
  • Defining integration strategies aligned to the transaction rationale and value case, including the integration ambition, priorities, governance, pace and sequencing required to deliver the intended deal outcomes.
  • Leading the design of the combined organisation and target operating model, including decisions on the level of integration required across businesses, functions, geographies and capabilities.
  • Overseeing integration planning and execution across the deal lifecycle, including pre-deal integration assessment, synergy and value creation planning, Day 1 readiness, 100-Day planning and post-acquisition implementation.
  • Providing senior challenge and guidance on critical programme decisions, risks and trade-offs, helping executive teams maintain momentum and resolve complex issues during periods of significant organisational change.
  • Providing oversight across multiple engagements and opportunities, ensuring appropriate leadership, quality and risk management while deploying, managing and coaching teams effectively across competing client priorities.
  • Leading major proposals and pitches, bringing together relevant capabilities from across M&A Operations, Strategy&, Deals and the wider PwC network.
  • Driving the growth and development of the Integration practice, including contributing to pipeline development, propositions, methodologies, digital and AI-enabled approaches, and sector-specific integration credentials.
  • Working collaboratively with Partners and Directors across PwC to deepen client relationships and identify opportunities for the wider firm.
  • Leading and developing our people, coaching Senior Managers and broader teams, building future leaders and acting as a role model for quality, collaboration, inclusion and professional standards.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
