M&A Procurement Lead

Hours: Monday-Friday, Hybrid working with regular travel to sites as required

Location: Birmingham

Salary: Highly Competitive + Excellent Benefits Package


Lead procurement due diligence and integration activities across acquisitions and play a key role in shaping procurement strategy during business transformation.

The Role

This is a highly visible role that offers exposure to senior stakeholders across the organisation and the opportunity to influence procurement strategy during key transformation projects. You will play a critical role in ensuring continuity of supply, driving efficiencies, and delivering procurement value throughout the acquisition lifecycle.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead procurement due diligence activities during acquisitions, gathering and analysing supplier, contract and spend information.
  • Identify supplier opportunities, commercial synergies and cost-saving initiatives across newly acquired businesses.
  • Manage immediate procurement and supply chain challenges following acquisitions to ensure continuity of supply.
  • Review and negotiate supplier contracts, commercial terms and payment arrangements to maximise value.
  • Work closely with suppliers, buyers and operational stakeholders to resolve urgent issues and minimise disruption during transitions.
  • Assess procurement risks and develop plans to support smooth business integration.

What We Are Looking For

  • Proven procurement experience within M&A environments, procurement transformation programmes or highly project-based procurement roles.
  • Strong experience leading procurement due diligence and integration activities.
  • Excellent negotiation skills with a proven ability to deliver commercial value.
  • Strong analytical capability with the ability to assess data, identify opportunities and make informed recommendations.
  • Experience managing complex supplier relationships and supply chain challenges.
  • Experience within the food manufacturing sector would be advantageous, although candidates from other industries will also be considered.
