AJ Chambers is working with a Top 10 Accountancy Practice in London to connect an M&A Tax Manager with their next firm.
The Corporate Mergers & Acquisitions Tax team works with a broad range of clients, from entrepreneurial businesses and growing companies to large multinational organisations.
The team advises on a wide range of matters including transaction tax, tax structuring, tax governance, tax technology, due diligence, and sector-specific tax issues.
This is a dynamic and fast-paced area of tax, offering exposure to a variety of projects and transactions across multiple industries. The role provides the opportunity to work closely with clients and multidisciplinary teams while developing both technical and commercial expertise.
The successful candidate will join a growing specialist transaction tax team focused on delivering high-quality advisory services to corporate and investment-focused clients across a range of sectors.
The Role
This position is suited to an experienced transaction tax professional who is comfortable leading a variety of tax due diligence and tax structuring projects across both buy-side and sell-side transactions.

The role involves working closely with specialists across different tax disciplines, as well as colleagues involved in wider transaction advisory and financial due diligence work.
The successful candidate will combine strong technical knowledge with commercial awareness and the ability to communicate complex tax matters clearly to a range of stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead tax due diligence and tax structuring assignments across a range of transactions.
- Work collaboratively with internal specialists and transaction advisory teams on complex projects.
- Build and develop internal and external professional networks.
- Support business development activities, including identifying opportunities for new and cross-service work.
- Manage client onboarding, engagement procedures, and project risk considerations.
- Maintain regular communication with clients and stakeholders, ensuring high standards of service delivery throughout projects.
- Contribute to the review and input of transaction-related legal documentation and financial models.
- Coach, mentor, and support the development of junior team members.
- Support the development of key client and intermediary relationships.

Skills & Experience
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Strong and up-to-date technical tax knowledge, including the ability to manage complex transaction-related tax issues.
- Relevant experience in transaction tax, including tax due diligence and tax structuring work.
- Experience managing projects and supporting or supervising team members.
- Strong client relationship and stakeholder management skills.
- Commercial awareness and the ability to identify opportunities for additional services.
- Experience working with senior client stakeholders and external advisers, including legal and financial professionals.
- A relevant professional qualification and/or degree-level education (e.g. ACA, CTA or equivalent).
