About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Machine Learning Engineer to join our Group AI team. This pivotal role involves supporting the development, deployment, and operationalization of advanced artificial intelligence solutions that enhance the customer experience and streamline business operations across our retail brands. As a Machine Learning Engineer at Kingfisher, you will work within a high-performing engineering team to build scalable, robust, and efficient machine learning systems. Your contributions will directly influence how millions of customers interact with our products, services, and decision-making processes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in computer science and practical experience in machine learning, with a passion for applying innovative AI techniques to solve real-world problems.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in developing and deploying machine learning models in a production environment.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, with proficiency in libraries such as Pandas, scikit-learn, and Jupyter notebooks.
  • Experience working with SQL and designing data pipelines for data preparation and transformation.
  • Solid understanding of classical machine learning techniques, with awareness of modern approaches like natural language processing and deep learning.
  • Knowledge of model evaluation, monitoring, and optimization strategies.
  • Familiarity with deployment tools and practices, including version control systems like Git, CI/CD workflows, and containerization technologies.
  • Ability to interpret statistical data and assess model performance effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset, with the ability to work effectively within a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement machine learning models tailored to business needs.
  • Support the deployment of models into production environments, ensuring robustness and scalability.
  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable production-quality code adhering to engineering standards.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of data pipelines, automation tools, and workflows to streamline AI integration.
  • Monitor model performance continuously, identifying areas for improvement and optimization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, product management, and architecture to align AI initiatives with organizational goals.
  • Share knowledge and insights with team members, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning.
