About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join our Consumer Generative AI Product Machine Learning Engineering team at Snap. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing advanced machine learning products and AI-driven lenses that serve millions of Snapchat users daily. Your primary focus will be on image and video generation and editing, leveraging state-of-the-art diffusion and flow matching models to create immersive augmented reality experiences. You will work closely with cross-functional teams—including Product, Software Engineering, Lens Content, and Data Science—to prototype ideas, integrate ML models and APIs into production environments, and optimize solutions through rigorous A/B testing and user feedback. This position offers an exciting opportunity to stay at the forefront of GenAI research, evaluate emerging models and tools, and contribute to innovative products that redefine digital communication and entertainment.

Qualifications
- Strong background in Machine Learning, deep learning, and computer vision
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and C++
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, or a related technical field
- Experience with neural rendering, generative models, segmentation, object detection, classification, or tracking
- Knowledge of mathematics foundational to deep learning and AI
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and lead large, complex technical projects
- Proactive learning mindset and ability to quickly adapt to new concepts and technologies
Responsibilities
- Develop and deploy machine learning products and AI-driven lenses that enhance Snapchat’s user experience, focusing on image and video generation and editing
- Build and optimize cutting-edge augmented reality experiences utilizing diffusion and flow matching models
- Design, prototype, and iterate on GenAI pipelines for consumer-facing applications, delivering solutions within aggressive timelines
- Collaborate extensively with Product, Engineering, Lens Content, and Data Science teams to integrate ML models and APIs into production environments
- Monitor industry trends and research developments in Generative AI to evaluate new models, open-source tools, and third-party APIs for potential adoption
- Conduct thorough evaluations of visual quality for image and video generation models, ensuring high standards of output
- Participate in user feedback analysis and A/B testing to refine AI features and improve overall product performance
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of Snap’s AI capabilities by staying updated with the latest research and innovations in the field
