About The Role
We are seeking a skilled Machine Learning Engineer to join Kingfisher’s Group AI team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development, deployment, and operationalization of advanced artificial intelligence solutions that enhance customer experiences and streamline decision-making processes across our retail brands. As a key member of a high-performing engineering team, you will be instrumental in building scalable machine learning systems that are robust, efficient, and suitable for live environments. Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess a solid foundation in computer science principles, including data structures, algorithms, and software design. Practical experience with classical machine learning techniques is essential, along with an awareness of modern approaches such as natural language processing and deep learning. Proficiency in Python and familiarity with libraries like Pandas, scikit-learn, and Jupyter Notebook are required. Experience working with SQL and data pipelines for data preparation and transformation is necessary. Candidates should understand model evaluation, monitoring, and performance optimization in production environments. Knowledge of deployment tools and practices, including Git, CI workflows, and containerization, is highly desirable. Strong statistical skills to interpret data and assess model performance, combined with excellent communication and teamwork abilities, are critical for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement machine learning models, ensuring their successful deployment into production environments.
- Write robust, efficient, and maintainable production-quality code adhering to best engineering practices.
- Contribute to the enhancement of pipelines, tooling, and automation processes to streamline AI workflows.
- Apply sound engineering standards during model development to ensure reliability and scalability.
- Monitor model performance continuously and participate in ongoing optimization efforts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and priorities.
- Share knowledge, contribute innovative ideas, and foster a collaborative team environment.
