About The Role
We are seeking a talented Machine Learning Engineer to join Kingfisher’s Group AI team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support the development, deployment, and operationalization of advanced artificial intelligence solutions that influence millions of customers and colleagues across our retail brands. As part of a high-performing engineering team, you will be instrumental in building scalable, robust machine learning systems that enhance decision-making, improve customer experiences, and optimize business processes. Your work will directly impact how products and services are delivered and experienced, contributing to Kingfisher’s mission of creating better homes and lives.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a solid foundation in computer science and machine learning, with practical experience in developing and deploying models in real-world environments. Strong programming skills in Python and familiarity with libraries such as Pandas, scikit-learn, and Jupyter are essential. Experience working with SQL and data pipelines for data preparation and transformation is required. A good understanding of classical machine learning techniques, as well as awareness of modern approaches such as natural language processing and deep learning, is highly desirable. Candidates should have knowledge of model evaluation, monitoring, and performance optimization in production settings. Familiarity with deployment tools, including Git, CI workflows, and containerization, will be advantageous. Excellent communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions are crucial for success in this role.

Responsibilities
- Develop and implement machine learning models aligned with business needs and objectives.
- Support the deployment of models into production environments, ensuring reliability and scalability.
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable production-quality code adhering to engineering standards.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of data pipelines, tooling, and automation processes.
- Monitor model performance, conduct ongoing optimization, and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including engineering, product, and architecture—to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
- Share knowledge, contribute innovative ideas, and foster a collaborative team culture focused on continuous improvement.
- Apply statistical concepts to interpret data, evaluate model performance, and inform decision-making.
