About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join our Consumer Generative AI Product Machine Learning Engineering team at Snap. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing innovative machine learning products and AI-driven lenses that serve millions of Snapchat users daily. Your primary focus will be on image and video generation and editing, leveraging cutting-edge generative AI models and augmented reality technologies. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including Product, Software Engineering, Lens Content, and Data Science to prototype, integrate, and refine AI models and APIs. Your work will directly impact the creation of engaging, consumer-facing solutions that are shipped rapidly, often within weeks. This position offers an exciting opportunity to innovate at the forefront of GenAI, contributing to products that enhance user experiences through advanced visual and interactive content.

Qualifications
- Strong background in Machine Learning and Deep Learning
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or C++
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, or a related technical field
- Experience in neural rendering, generative models, segmentation, object detection, classification, tracking, or similar deep learning applications
- Knowledge of mathematics and foundational principles of deep learning
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and lead large technical projects
- Experience evaluating open-source models and third-party AI APIs/services
- Demonstrated passion for staying current with research and emerging trends in AI and machine learning
Responsibilities
- Develop and deploy machine learning products and AI lenses that enhance Snapchat’s visual communication features
- Build and optimize augmented reality experiences using diffusion and flow matching models
- Create state-of-the-art GenAI pipelines for image and video generation, ensuring rapid deployment within consumer-facing applications
- Collaborate extensively with Product, Engineering, Lens Content, and Data Science teams to prototype, test, and refine AI models and APIs
- Monitor the market and research landscape for advancements in GenAI, evaluating open-source models and third-party APIs to inform build-vs-buy decisions
- Contribute to the evaluation of visual quality for image and video generation models, ensuring high standards for user experience
- Participate in iterative development cycles, incorporating user feedback and A/B testing results to improve AI features
- Stay informed of emerging trends and research in AI, continuously enhancing technical expertise and application strategies
