About The Role
We are seeking a talented Machine Learning Engineer to join Kingfisher’s Group AI team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development, deployment, and operationalization of advanced artificial intelligence solutions that influence millions of customers and colleagues across our retail brands. As a key member of the engineering team, you will be responsible for building scalable and robust machine learning systems that enhance decision-making, personalization, and operational efficiency. Your work will directly impact how products and services are delivered, ensuring models are optimized for live environments and integrated seamlessly into business processes.
The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including engineering, product management, and architecture—to improve tools, processes, and practices that accelerate AI adoption. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining high standards of code quality, model performance, and system reliability, contributing to Kingfisher’s innovation-driven culture and its commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Qualifications
- Proven experience in developing machine learning models and deploying them into production environments.
- Strong programming skills in Python, with familiarity in libraries such as Pandas, scikit-learn, and Jupyter notebooks.
- Solid understanding of computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
- Hands-on experience with classical machine learning techniques and awareness of modern approaches such as natural language processing and deep learning.
- Experience working with SQL and data pipelines for data preparation and transformation.
- Knowledge of model evaluation, monitoring, and performance optimization in real-world settings.
- Familiarity with deployment tools and practices, including version control (Git), continuous integration workflows, and containerization technologies.
- Ability to interpret statistical data and assess model performance with confidence.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement machine learning models tailored to business needs.
- Support the deployment and integration of models into production systems, ensuring robustness and efficiency.
- Write clean, maintainable, and scalable production-quality code adhering to engineering standards.
- Contribute to the improvement of data pipelines, automation tools, and deployment processes.
- Monitor model performance continuously and optimize models to maintain accuracy and efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements, prioritize tasks, and deliver impactful solutions.
- Share knowledge, contribute innovative ideas, and foster a collaborative team environment focused on continuous learning and improvement.
